Being Homosexual

Every time I hear or read of someone, anyone, who has taken their own life because of their homosexuality, I am devastated; sick to my stomach; incensed; moved to tears. I want to reach into the realm of beyond, gently pull each and every unjustly shamed child/person who felt that being a homosexual was so unacceptable that they had to die, and pull them close in a giant embrace, one that would not only have the power to give them their life back, but also would immediately and magically erase all the atrocious lies they were told about themselves and their sexual orientation. Furthermore, this "beautiful new life" hug would suddenly empower them to cut ties with anyone who could not accept them in their entirety, who would so cruelly judge them. This hug, with amazing positive energy pulsing through it would also provide them with a completely new life, one replete with acceptance, love, understanding and belonging. There would not be a trace of any religious dogma or talk of the "sinful nature" of their orientation or their unGodly "choice." Because of what they endured while living, and what they felt they had to do to escape the horrors of being on this earth, their beautiful new life would keep them safe forever, never to encounter the horrors of judgement from people who are flat out wrong to disparage their very being. Join me in envisioning the precious boy who jumped off a bridge recently (because of being exposed as gay) coming backwards out of the water, only to encounter love, acceptance, and a brand new life? My heart aches, and I offer a plea and humble prayer that we who are living will do everything in our power to educate our children differently than these poor children were...that we will be part of a revolution of love that eradicates the horrors of judgement towards the homosexual.

  1. It's a heartbreaking story, the boy who jumped off the bridge, and all the other discriminated and judged men and women. I have a gay nephew, he is the most kind and loving, giving and caring person I know. There really is no need to get into God and the Bible, we all know the argument. Those who judge and hate will one day face their maker, and I say that because those who judge and hate are so-called Christians, so they do believe they will face God one day.

  3. I believe in your heartfelt hug for peace and harmony and understanding. If we are to be shocked by any of this, it should be that anyone would want to behave so cruelly to another person for any reason at all ...especially just to get a mean-hearted laugh at the expense of a fellow human being.

  5. I am envisioning what you asked for this dear boy. Please look at my blog--I'm trying to do my part in helping EVERYONE learn how to have healthier relationships. It is an inclusive skills-based blog, rather than exclusive. I'd love your take on it. http://lifetime2love.blogspot.com/p/in-love-mature-love.html
