I don't care about left or right. I don't care about conservative or liberal. But I DO care about being American. I am proud to be an American even while righty and lefty are battling it out on the TV screen. If I can teach my children why our country is so great and what makes the people who live here so special, then maybe they will make choices based on the whole and not just the party.
I want to teach them what it means to be American and why we are, "The Home of the Brave." To have the freedoms that we do and not be judged by our beliefs is the right of "We the People."
Thank you for reading. I am truly thankful for all of you that have your wonderful opinions, good or bad, we have that right. I'm feeling a bit decaffeinated right now. Time for some sleepy tea.
Your a good Momma Expresso, that's how we all should be raising our kids. My kids were foremost taught empathy towards others and both my kids are great adults who respect their parents, grandmom, friends, partners and each other.
ReplyDeleteThose of us who are political junkies do get a little partisan at times(well, okay, ALOT) but I think most of us do care about each other in this great nation of ours and only want what's best for us. When some get sidetracked and start spewing hate and lies just for powers sake we need to push back and defend the good. It'll always be good against evil, those rose-colored glasses have to come off sometimes!

ReplyDeleteI have decided no matter what the rest of the world has to label things: blue, red, Christian, Muslim, Chinese, American there really are only us: just Moms, Dads and children and how a society works in the best interests of each other.
I'm taking up the effort to cut through it all with using my Mom perspective to reshape everything in our world. It's pretty fun putting a Mom where no one expects her to be.
