Channel surfing from MSNBC to the Food Network, I have to pass through the Fox hole in order to get to the creative cakes made by Duff and his team. As I was going through the hole, Glenn Beck appeared and caught my attention. He was talking about the President's latest faults and told his technical team to roll the tape so he could prove to his loyal fans that he caught the President saying things that just weren't true... as the video played behind him, I noticed that Fox had turned off the audio portion of this clip of the President and Beck mimicked the President's words to his audience about what the President was saying. "Did you hear that? Roll the tape again!" Beck was speaking for the President and telling his audience that they heard the President say those words on his show! Hard to do when the audio has been purposely turned off! This stock footage of the President was about 20 seconds long and there you "see" the President having a conversation with?????? About?????? It was so blatant that this clip had been sitting in the Fox archives for who knows how long... So Beck tells his team to, "Roll the tape again." Roll the tape again? Glenn Beck MUST think his audience is stupid. Maybe they are if they believe the mimicking words of the show's host. I guess Beck wants to make sure that his audience hear his words clearly and not the President's? Hmmmm... Another cup of caffeine please!
Glenn Beck Thinks his Audience is Stupid
ReplyDeleteHardly surprising if he's figured that out by now.
He's probably getting to be like one of those spirit mediums who "talk to the dead", or an astrologer -- by now he's realized that the marks will believe anything he says, no matter how phony, so he's not even trying any more.
So true 753! The phoniness oozes from the TV screen, I don't know how people can watch. I guess it's the same people who believe that we live in a Christian Nation. Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to make another pot of coffee...
ReplyDeleteI'll be absolutely amazed if we don't find that today's domestic terrorist didn't get his "new currency" ideology from Beck. Words have power, and free speech comes with responsibility, not unbridled license.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, as always.
Your words are wise Momma P! Thanks for visiting. : )
ReplyDeleteYou might enjoy the current (Jan. 8th I think) post and comments at www.thesmartlysocal.com my friend. It is interesting that the four initial comments there are mild--conversational, until one commenter comes along and resorts to name-calling. So interesting to me when those who claim to be "informed" cannot be confident enough in their opinions not to spew hatred. I appreciate that Caffeine Convoy is a place for intelligent conversation, regardless of the varied opinions that can be "Espressoed!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words Britton. I think the more you know, the more tolerant you are of those who don't? Maybe? I'll have to think about that with another cup of caffeine...
